I find the occult fascinating, but I sometimes wonder how ethical it is to publicly talk about and practice it even "for fun" when it's basically the same pseudoscience fascists love. It often feels like I'm just giving their bullshit free publicity and lending it credence. Thoughts?

“the occult” is a massive umbrella that covers a wide variety of topics and concepts. It’s an idea as broad and varied as “history”, which happens to be another thing fascists love but is still a valuable and interesting thing to study.
The keyword here is Study, there are absolutely chunks that shouldn’t be practiced for a myriad of reasons. Ancient Greece is fascinating and important, but we can bring back the toga without bringing back the pederasty. Magic is fascinating, but we can bring back witch bottles without bringing back the orientalism.
That said, a major problem with western Occultism is people just uncritically repeating shit without understanding where it comes from, what it means, or if they're even allowed to use it.
